Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau wants festivals repositioned in Plateau to attract international tourists and investments.

Mr Mutfwang made the call in his goodwill message on the celebration of the Pusdung festival of the Ngas ethnic group of Plateau.

In a statement by his media aide, Gyang Bere, on Saturday in Jos, the governor noted that leveraging the state’s rich cultural heritage and assets would unlock its vast tourism potential for development, which would have multiplier effects in other sectors.

Mr Mutfwang described the festival as a period for the Ngas nation to assess their achievements and make decisions to accelerate the growth and development of their land and people.

He acknowledged the annual festival as pivotal in promoting purposeful vision, fostering unity, and cultivating a distinct national identity for the Ngas people in Northern Nigeria.

Mr Mutfwang reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to provide a conducive platform for cultural festivals to thrive within the state.

He called on the citizens of Plateau to unite in promoting peace and harmony in the state.
