Governor Bala Mohammed preaches unity, compassion in Bauchi

Governor Bala Mohammed has urged residents to uphold the virtues of unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence as Muslims across the state and beyond celebrate the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr festival.
The governor said this in a statement on Friday.
Mr Mohammed urged citizens to sustain the moral lessons of Ramadan, including patience, charity, humility, and kindness, stressing that “true success lies in maintaining these virtues beyond the holy month”.
He encouraged continued support for the less privileged and adherence to the exemplary life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), anchored on mercy, justice, and generosity.
The governor commended religious leaders and scholars for their role in promoting peace, moral discipline, and unity throughout Ramadan, urging them to sustain their guidance for societal development.
Reaffirming Bauchi’s tradition of harmony among diverse groups, Mr Mohammed called for tolerance and mutual respect.
While noting that unity remains key to progress, the governor said, “I want to urge residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible information, following emerging security concerns in parts of the state.
“As the government intensifies efforts to safeguard lives and property, security remains a collective responsibility.”
He assured Bauchi residents of his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace, while appreciating the people’s support as his government nears the end of its tenure.
The governor pledged to build on his achievements and deliver more dividends of democracy.
Mr Mohammed, who acknowledged the prevailing economic challenges, reiterated his administration’s resolve to implement policies to improve livelihoods through investments in agriculture, infrastructure, and human capital development.
