Two herdsmen have been arrested and arraigned for raping.

On Tuesday, the two herdsmen were arraigned before the Area Court in Gwagwalada, Abuja.

They pleaded guilty to kidnapping and raping an eight-month-pregnant woman.

The two herdsmen, identified as Nuru Tukur (21) and Yusufa Haruna (29), on February 25 kidnapped the pregnant woman at her home in Abaji before gang-raping her, said the prosecutor, Dabo Yakubu.

According to Mr Yakubu, a resident of Abaji, Abubakar Wakili, reported the case at the Gwagwalada Area Command office on February 26 before the suspects were arrested and arraigned.

The judge, Abdullahi Abdulkarim, ordered that the suspects be remanded, deferring their sentence to March 22.
