“I want to be President for you. Drive me there. Commit yourself. A united Nigeria is our dream. A free Nigeria is our commitment.”

All Progressives Congress presidential aspirant Bola Tinubu says he would help young Nigerians if elected, and promised to deliver a banditry-free Nigeria.

“I want to be President for you,” Mr Tinubu said, begging Nigerians to “Drive me there. Commit yourself. A united Nigeria is our dream. A free Nigeria is our commitment.

“A violent-free Nigeria, a banditry-free Nigeria. A very successful Nigeria. We promise you, we will hand it over to you. You are our tomorrow,” he added.

The former Lagos state governor disclosed this while speaking to APC youths on Saturday in a rally held at the Mobalaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.

Since he declared to run for president in 2023, Mr Tinubu, 70, has been criticised as being too old and frail to lead the most populous country in Africa.

In February, Peoples Gazette published a video revealing Mr Tinubu soaked from behind, while his security aide covered his nose; a development that would insinuate that Mr Tinubu was battling a health condition.

However, Mr Tinubu dismissed criticisms about his frail health, saying being Nigerian president is not grave digging that requires his physical strength.
