Imo assembly confirms six more commissioner-nominees

The Imo House of Assembly has screened and confirmed six additional commissioner-nominees.

The Imo House of Assembly has screened and confirmed six additional commissioner-nominees.

The speaker, Chike Olemgbe (APC-Ihitte Uboma), stated that the list of nominees had been considered during an executive session on Tuesday before their appearance for the screening.

The majority leader, Kanayo Onyemaechi (APC Owerri West), moved the motion for screening, which was seconded by the member representing Owerri Municipal, Clinton Amadi (Labour Party).

The nominees are Johncliff Nwadike, Ernest Ibejiako, Emeka Mbudem, Ifeanyi Oru, Prosper Ohayagha and Chukwuemeka Okoronkwo.

Following the screening of the nominees, Deputy Speaker Amarachi Iwuanyanwu (APC-Nwangele) moved a motion for their confirmation, noting that they had satisfied all requirements.

The motion was seconded by Clinton Amadi (Labour Party-Owerri Municipal), who confirmed the nominees.

The 16 nominees had been previously screened and confirmed by the parliament.
