The police command in Ebonyi says it would not allow any form of protests or disruption during the inauguration of a new governor on May 29. It told aggrieved politicians to seek justice at the election petition tribunal.

Police commissioner Olawale Faleye gave the warning via statement by the commands spokesman Onome Onovwakpoyeya on Sunday.

“We are ready to ensure security and we will not tolerate any form of protest and I urge you to be law-abiding,” Mr Faleye said.

“Members of political parties should avoid violence and have confidence in the court and as such, they should wait for the outcome of the tribunal verdict on the cases already in court.”

The police chief warned that the police would not hesitate to deal decisively with any person(s) or group of persons, who deliberately caused breakdown of law and order.

He enjoined members of the public to be law-abiding and shun disorderliness during and after May 29 inauguration for the new government in the state.

Mr Olaleye assured that the personnel of the command were prepared and committed to the protection of lives and property.
