The founder of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Boniface Aniebonam, has assured that the party will come out stronger from its current internal crisis.

Mr Aniebonam, in a statement on Sunday in Lagos, said NNPP’s greatness lies in its members’ ability to resolve the ongoing internal wranglings amicably.

He said it was important for the party to think out of the box, reason responsibly and find solutions to the internal leadership crisis.

”Our members should understand that trouble is not the way forward if the party must remain united and formidable,” he said.

The NNPP founder urged party members to respect and abide by its constitution and grand norms.

Mr Aniebonam said that although going to court was a constitutional way of resolving conflict, resolution through conversation and negotiation was more effective.

He said Rabiu Kwankwaso and other expelled party members contributed to the party’s growth and popularity.

”The emergence of Kwankwaso and his Kwankwasiya Movement enhanced NNPP’s political status in Nigeria.

”Winning a state like Kano and several other positions remain the tonic required to move on and expand our scope in Nigeria.

”So as the founder and life member of the NNPP Board of Trustees, I am a father to all; my wish is nothing less than total peace in the party,” he said.

He said the party, established in 2002, had achieved remarkable feats by winning elections and remaining afloat as a registered political party.

”The most important thing now is our capacity and ability to take advantage and advance our objectives to enthrone a new Nigeria of our dreams.
