The Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) has urged the Yobe Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) to ensure that the May 25 local government councils poll, is free, fair and credible.

Umar Jajere, the state IPAC chairman said this when he addressed journalists on Friday in Damaturu.

Mr Jajere said that the commission must remain impartial in the conduct of the election to ensure its credibility.

He also commended Gov. Mai Mala Buni for his efforts in ensuring that the election was conducted under a conducive atmosphere for residents to participate.

Mr Jajere called on all registered political parties to field candidates for the election, expressing optimism that the government would provide a level playing ground for all candidates.

He urged eligible voters in the state to come out in large numbers and vote for their preferred candidates in the election.
