Iran has condemned the deadly attack on the political chief of the Palestinian Islamist Hamas movement in Tehran.

“The pure blood of the holy and honourable warrior Ismail Haniyeh has undoubtedly not been shed in vain,” foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said in a press statement.

The attack on Haniyeh would also further strengthen the relationship between the Palestinian resistance front and Iran, according to the spokesman, ISNA news agency reported.

Regarding the details of the attack, which Hamas has blamed on Israel, he mentioned only that the security authorities are still examining the causes and the incident.
