Iranian missile and drone attacks have killed seven people in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since February 28, the country’s defence ministry said on Monday.

The ministry said the casualties included two military personnel and five civilians, while 145 people of various nationalities were injured.

UAE air defences have intercepted 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,627 drones launched from Iran during the same period.

Authorities said Monday’s attacks involved six ballistic missiles and 21 drones that targeted several cities, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain.

In the deadliest incident, a missile struck a civilian vehicle in Abu Dhabi’s Al Bahyah district, killing a Palestinian national.

A drone strike near Dubai International Airport struck a fuel tank, triggering a large fire that temporarily halted airport operations before flights gradually resumed.

Another drone strike ignited a building in Umm Al Quwain, while a separate attack caused a fire at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, a major oil export and ship-refuelling hub near the Strait of Hormuz.

Officials said the country remains on high alert and is prepared to respond to further attacks.

The strikes are part of a broader regional escalation following joint U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Iran on February 28 that killed former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Since then, Iran and allied groups have launched retaliatory attacks on Israeli and U.S. interests across the Middle East.
