Manchester United are into the fourth round of the Emirates FA following an impressive 3-1 victory over underperforming Everton on Friday night.

United, who have only been eliminated from two of their last 37 FA Cup third round ties, took the lead in the fourth minute of the game through Antony from a clean assist from Marcus Rashford.

Ten minutes later, Everton equalised through Conor Coady after a blunder by David De Gea saw the ball at the feet of the England international, who slotted the ball into an empty post.

Everton started the second half on a negative note after Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi, with tears in his eyes, was stretched out of the pitch just six minutes into half following a challenge by Tyrell Malacia.

In the 52th minute of the encounter, Coady found the back of the net for the second time in the game but it was an own goal to restore United’s lead. Dominic Calvert-Lewis thought he had leveled again for the visitors but was ruled out by VAR for an offside.

Rashford scored from the spot in the final minutes of the game after a foul on Alejandro Garnacho inside the Everton 18-yard area to seal the comfortable victory for the Red Devils.

He has now scored in his seven consecutive home appearances in all competitions as United recorded their seventh straight victory across all competitions.
