The Kirikasamma LGA in Jigawa has established a permanent grain market to boost its revenue drive.

The council’s spokesperson, Musa Muhammad, stated this in an interview on Thursday in Dutse.

He said the market established in Sinamu village would ease transportation difficulties, encourage trade in agricultural produce and boost the council’s revenue base.

“Sinamu village, being a fertile land with huge agricultural output during harvest, deserved a permanent market,” he said, adding that it would also ease transaction processes between sellers and buyers.

Mr Muhammad said the market is envisaged to be a hub of supply for cereal crops and perishable produce to the southern part of Nigeria, Ghana and Niger Republics.
