Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, presented a bank draft of N300,000 each as empowerment to 100 constituents selected across the six local governments within the district, namely: Okitipupa, Irele, Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Odigbo, and Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo.

He also promised vast development and dividends of democracy to the people of the senatorial district.

Mr Ibrahim made this pledge on Wednesday while presenting a scorecard of his 100 days in office to his constituents at the University of Fortune, Igbotako, in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.

Mr Ibrahim also said that he had since installed no fewer than 410 solar lights across so many communities in his district, adding that the other 223 solar lights would be installed soon.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart also flagged off a 25.9-kilometre road rehabilitation from Okitipupa to Igbotako and a 365-metre asphalt overlay from Idogun and other communities.

“We have also donated N10 million each to the newly-created Ilale West and Ilale North Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) for the construction of their respective secretariats.

“We have flagged off rehabilitation, maintenance, and construction of roads in some communities and installed more than 410 solar lights in several communities, as 223 other solar lights are ready for installation.

“As you can all see, we have just distributed bank drafts of N300,000 each to 100 constituents as empowerment.

“All these are to ensure that we bring vast development to our senatorial district and ensure that our people enjoy the dividends of democracy,” he said.

Mr Ibrahim also said that he had presented a bill for the establishment of the Bitumen Development Commission and another one on the Insurance Amendment Act of 2023.

He also said that he had facilitated N200 million for the contractors of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to tackle decades of blackouts in the district.

The business mogul added that he moved a motion on the need for the Federal Government’s intervention in the sea incursion ravaging the Ayetoro community and seconded a motion for the election of the Senate President, among others.

Traditional rulers, politicians, youths, and other stakeholders were present at the programme.
