The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has called on Muslims to pray harder ahead of the 2023 general elections.

This is contained in a statement by JNI’s secretary-general, Khalid Aliyu, in Kaduna.

According to him, the last 10 days of Ramadan are an opportunity to gain multiple rewards by giving sadaqah to those in need to seek the pleasure of Allah.

Mr Aliyu urged Muslims also to use the last 10 days of Ramadan to pray to Allah for hitch-free elections in 2023.

He also urged the Muslim faithful to devote the last 10 days of Ramadan to introspection and prayers.

“We should sustain the spiritual tempo, which is the essence of Ramadan fasting. We are therefore expected to be reformed and be better servants of Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, for Allah remains the Lord of Ramadan and all other months,” said the JNI chief. “He said that intensifying prayers in the last 10 days of the Holy month was a practical teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who redoubled effort within those days.”
