Jude Okoye fraudulently diverted millions of dollars of our royalties: Peter Square

According to Peter, despite confronting Paul multiple times about the company and the missing royalties, he was met with repeated denials.

Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, has accused his elder brother, Jude Okoye, of secretly diverting millions of dollars in royalties from P-Square’s earnings into a private account.

In a statement released on X on Monday, Peter recounted how he discovered a secret company called Northside Music, founded by Jude and his wife, Ifeoma Okoye, used in carrying out the act.

This company, which bore a striking resemblance to their official management company Northside Entertainment, had been quietly siphoning off large sums from P-Square’s royalties for years.

According to Peter, despite confronting Paul multiple times about the company and the missing royalties, he was met with repeated denials.

“To my shock, the founders and directors of this secret company were none other than JUDE Okoye and his wife, Ifeoma Okoye, and the registered address was the family home of JUDE’s wife,” Peter revealed.

“I knew I had to talk to PAUL about it. I approached him multiple times… Each time I met with him, he denied knowing anything about it.”

Peter explained that his legal team was instructed to focus solely on Jude and his wife as the primary suspects in the case, excluding Paul entirely.

The situation escalated when Peter, after failing to get answers from Paul and Jude, reported the matter to the EFCC.

Jude was subsequently detained and, after being questioned, admitted to diverting funds into the secret account.

According to Peter, the EFCC’s investigation revealed that Jude had been splitting these funds with Paul, leading to further inquiries.

However, Jude claimed that the payments to Paul were related to a separate debt from the sale of a house in America, not an attempt to cut Peter out of the earnings.

“JUDE was then detained after being questioned. He came clean and admitted he had been diverting millions of dollars of our money to this secret company that he and his wife were the directors of,” Peter explained.

“All of JUDE’s bank accounts were immediately frozen… PAUL’S name was never mentioned in the petition because he was never a director of this secret company.”

Peter also clarified that he never attempted to use the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to target his twin brother, Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, despite the claims made by Paul in a recent interview.

Peter’s statement, titled “I Never Attempted or Tried to Use the EFCC to Arrest My Twin Brother PAUL,” also addressed the common misconception that P-Square’s internal conflicts are merely family matters.

He emphasised that while their personal lives are private, P-Square is a public brand that belongs to their fans as much as to the family, making it necessary to share the truth behind recent events.

“Our fans have played a significant role in our success, so they have the right to know what’s happening with their beloved brand P-SQUARE.”

Peter ended his statement by promising to release more details, including the EFCC’s final report, bank statements, and other relevant documents, once the investigation concludes.
