Kaduna assembly inaugurates two new lawmakers

The Kaduna State House of Assembly on Tuesday inaugurated two new legislators from Zaria constituencies, following their victories in the state’s by-elections held on August 16.
Isa Haruna of Zaria Kewaye and Sani Umar of Zaria Bassawa took the oath of office, pledging honesty, service, and accountability to their constituents.
Speaking after the ceremony, Mr Haruna, representing the Zaria Kewaye Constituency, described the moment as one of the happiest days of his life and appreciated the people of his constituency for voting for him.
He said, “I have a very good understanding with my people. They know why we are here, and they believe in me. Whatever comes from anywhere they send me to represent them, I will take it back to them the way it is. I will always tell them the truth and give them a very good representation.’’
Also speaking, the new member representing Zaria Bassawa Constituency expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
He said, “We thank God and Governor Uba Sani for the good things he is doing for Kaduna people; we only ask for your prayers to help us discharge our duties effectively.’’
