The Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service said it received 19 complaints in July.

The commander of the Kano command, Abdullahi Al-ameen, said this in an interview on Wednesday in Kano.

He said the service is trying its best to meet its mandate, including the prevention detection of crimes and illegal activities being perpetrated in the forests.

“Of the 19 complainants, 17 have been treated and done with, while two are pending. Most of the cases were on animal theft, farm produce theft, kidnapping, phone theft, thuggery, rape, among others.

“We will continue to secure and make our forests a crime-free zone,” he said.

He urged Kano residents to continue cooperating with the service and remain law-abiding.
