Governor Abba Yusuf has declared Wednesday (today) as a public holiday to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

Mr Yusuf announced this in a statement by information commissioner Baba Dantiye on Wednesday.

The governor urged the people of the state to use the occasion to reflect on the teachings of the prophet and imbibe them in their daily affairs.
