Madewa Badejo, the Medical Director of Lagos State-owned JK Randle Hospital, has directed all staff to present their permanent voter cards to the hospital management as part of strategies to help Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu avoid defeat at the March 11 governorship election.

Mr Sanwo-Olu is the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the anointed candidate of president-elect Bola Tinubu who’s political dynasty in the state was floored by opposition Labour Party in the just concluded presidential election.

Many analysts continue to regard Mr Tinubu’s loss in Lagos as a proverbial message of an end to his decades long grip on the country’s economic capital which he had claimed to be a product of his vision.

As the Labour Party tries to sustain its newfound momentum in the state, operatives of the ruling APC are under pressure to do everything they can to ensure the return of Mr Sanwo-Olu for a second term.

Mr Badejo said in his message to a WhatsApp platform that a Sanwo-Olu loss could prove damaging to the job security of the civil servants, underscoring the allegations of voter intimidation, oppression and abuse of privilege that have been levelled against the ruling party since the campaign began.

“Starting from tomorrow, we will be gathering this information to see how we can assist and ensure our employer does not lose his seat, as it can affect us too,” Mr Badejo said.

“Hello everyone, good afternoon and well done for your support and assistance in rendering health care services. Please if you have (PVC’s) Permanent Voters Card, please bring it to the hospital between now and Friday for us to see. Let us know where you live and where your polling booth is” the message added.
