The Lagos State Police Command has arrested some suspects in Oluwole Market, Apapa, for allegedly producing water sachets using another company’s brand name.

The command’s public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed this in a post shared on his X handle on Monday. He shared a video of the factory showing the already packaged sachet water ready for distribution.

According to the command’s spokesperson, the suspects also allegedly inscribed the registration number given to the imitated company by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on their water sachets.

Mr Hundeyin wrote, “These suspects fraudulently used the brand name and NAFDAC number of another sachet water producing company to produce their sachet water inside Oluwole Market, Apapa.”

Mr Hundeyin thanked residents for providing information to the police about the factory’s activities.
