The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed some establishments in Lekki Phase 1 for alleged noise pollution and violation of other environmental laws.

In a statement on his official X handle on Friday, the commissioner for environment and water resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the operation took place after they failed to heed previous warnings.

Mr Wahab stated, “LASEPA has taken action by sealing several establishments found in violation of state environmental laws in Lekki Phase 1 for non-compliance.”

“The affected establishments, including Bolivar, Red Lagos, Kingfisher, and Logic Church, were found to be violating environmental laws despite prior warnings,” said the commissioner.

He stated that the operation by LASEPA was undertaken to uphold environmental regulations and combat noise pollution in the state.

The commissioner added that the measure underscores the agency’s commitment to fostering a serene and sustainable environment that prioritises safety, cleanliness, and environmental responsibility.
