Lagos Shooting: Police inspector arrested over killing of resident

The police arrested an inspector allegedly involved in a shooting incident in the Ajah area that resulted in the death of a man, Gafaru Buraimoh.

The police command in Lagos has arrested an inspector allegedly involved in a shooting incident in the Ajah area that resulted in the death of a man, Gafaru Buraimoh.

The command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest on his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday.

“At About 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, a shooting incident involving men of Ajah Division resulted in the unfortunate death of Gafaru Buraimoh of Happy Land Estate, Ajah,” the police officer tweeted. “The officer behind the shooting, an Inspector of Police, was immediately disarmed and detained as a full-scale investigation has commenced.”

Mr Hundeyin added, “The command, through Area Commander Elemoro and Divisional Police Officer, Ajah, has since notified and established contact with the family.”

The police officer added that the command commiserated with the deceased’s family and pledged to ensure justice.
