The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit (Task force) has introduced complaint hotlines for residents to report security threats, traffic offences, and environmental violations directly to the agency.

Task force spokesperson, Abdulraheem Gbadeyan, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Lagos.

He explained that the 24-hour initiative was backed by Lagos laws empowering the task force to enforce sanitation, environmental, traffic, and social order regulations.

“The initiative, which runs round the clock, aligns with the task force’s statutory responsibilities under the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Law and the Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018.

“These laws empower the agency to enforce compliance on issues such as poor sanitary conditions, environmental degradation, vices, and traffic offences,” Mr Gbadeyan said.

According to him, the hotlines will complement its ‘See Something, Say Something’ whistle-blowing platform, strengthening community engagement and improving the agency’s response time.

“With these hotlines, the public can now engage directly with the agency’s top management for swift intervention in street blockages, environmental hazards, and related concerns,” he said.

Residents were urged to call 0913 755 5111 or 0913 855 5111 for quick assistance.

He added that the agency could also be reached on social media via Twitter/X: @Taskforce112, Facebook: Lagos State Taskforce, Instagram: @Taskforce112, or email: lagosstatetaskforce@gmail.com

Mr Gbadeyan assured residents of the task force’s commitment to maintaining safety, order, and environmental sustainability across the state.
