A 33- year-old man, Emmanuel Orji, was on Friday docked in the Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for groping a minor.

The defendant, a trader, is charged with indecent assault and an attempt to defile.

Prosecution counsel Raji Akeem told the court that Mr Orji committed the offence on September 7 at his residence. The defendant allegedly lured the minor, an 11-year-old girl, into his shop and groped her.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Chief Magistrate B.O. Osunsanmi admitted the defendant to bail of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Mr Osunsanmi adjourned the case until October 30 for mention.
