Lawmaker’s wife empowers 800 indigent women with N2 million in Nasarawa 

She said that the gesture was to change their lives positively.

Salome Zhekaba, wife of the member representing Obi 2 Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has empowered 800 indigent women with N2 million.

Under the largesse, she distributed over 50 cartoons of maggi worth N1.3 million and N700,000 to the women in the constituency in order to improve their standard of living.

Mrs Zhekaba made the distribution on Sunday in Duduguru, Obi Local Government Area of the State.

She said that the gesture was to change their lives positively.

”I am here to appreciate your support and votes for my husband during the 2023 general election

”This visit is also to distribute Maggi and cash to the women of Obi 2 constituency in order to improve on their standard of living

”I am here to put smiles on the faces of women of Obi 2 constituency. This is to change your lives positively,” she said.

Mrs Zhekaba also solicited for more support of all and sundry to enable her husband succeed

She urged the women to support their husbands in the interest of their families and for the overall development of the society.

Mrs Zhekaba further urged the women to embrace skills and entrepreneurship in order to be self-reliant and contribute positively to the development of the society.

She also urged them to take the education of their children seriously.

Also speaking, Augustine Agwale, PDP chairman, Duglu ward and Paulina Bathelomem, women leader, PDP Duglu ward, appreciated her for always having the women of the constituency at her heart.

The PDP leaders called on the people of the constituency to continue to support Mrs Zhekaba to succeed.

They also prayed to God to bless her and her husband abundantly.

They said her husband, Mr Zhekaba, was making them proud by providing quality representation and the much needed dividends of democracy to the people of the constituency.
