Two people were killed and two others injured after lightning struck in central Mongolia, the country’s National Emergency Agency said on Monday.

The incident happened in Tsenkher soum (administrative subdivision) of Arkhangai province on Saturday night while they were making a phone call on a mountain.

This is according to the agency, as said in a statement.

Recently, several lightning-related deaths and injuries have been reported in Mongolia.

In the coming days, large parts of the Asian country, especially central and eastern provinces, are expected to see torrential rains accompanied by lightning and thunder.

The agency said, thereby urging the public to take serious precautions.
