A 30-year-old businessman, Rasheed Jinadu, was, on Wednesday, arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court over an alleged visa fraud.

Mr Jinadu, who resides at 4, Oloruntedo Street, Moshalashi, Alagbado, Lagos, is charged with conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence.

The police prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offences were committed on August 28, 2023, at Moshalashi Alagbado, Lagos.

Mr Akeem said that the defendant introduced the complainant, Abas Yusuf, to a visa agent, now at large, to secure an Egyptian visa and air ticket.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.

The Chief Magistrate, Bola Osunsanmi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum.

Ms Osunsanmi, thereafter, adjourned the case untill January 24 for mention.
