Man arraigned over alleged theft of tricycle worth N1.5 million

A 39-year-old man, Louis Kogu was on Monday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly stealing a tricycle worth N1,500,000.

Mr Kogu, whose address was not provided, is charged with theft.

The prosecutor, Inspector Femi Omilana, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 28, 2023, at about 9:30 p.m. in the Oke-Ado area of Ibadan.

Mr Omilana said that Mr Kogu stole the tricycle belonging to one Adebayo Oludele, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, G.T. Oladele, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until March 11 for hearing.
