Michael Haight, 42, has wiped out his entire family, after killing his wife, mother-in-law and five children before taking his own life in Utah, U.S.

Findings by the police revealed he committed the murders and then suicide days after his spouse filed for divorce.

The corpses of the slain family were discovered in a local home in Enoch City on Wednesday after it was reported that Mrs Haight missed an appointment she scheduled herself without giving any explanation. The report prompted a welfare check on her residence.

Mr Haight’s victims include his 40-year-old wife Tausha, his 78-year-old mother-in-law Gail Earl and five children who were not named because they were minors. The slain kids include three girls, 17, 12 and 7, and two boys, 7 and 4.

Rob Dotson, Enoch City manager disclosed all the victims had died from gunshot wounds.

Security officials asserted Mrs Haight had requested dissolution of her marriage on December 21, days before her husband became trigger-happy.
