Man pleads guilty to stealing vehicle’s kick starter

An Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, ordered the remand of a 31-year-old man at the correctional service, pending review of facts in a charge of stealing brought by the police.
The defendant, Abubakar Saidu, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of unlawful entry and stealing of a vehicle kick starter valued at N40,000.
He pleaded guilty.
The Magistrate, Mr A.O. Ogbe ordered that the defendant be remanded at the correctional centre, until January 15, for review of facts and sentencing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that Saidu committed the offences on January 4, at about 11.30 p.m., at Bola Kazeem street in the Owode area of Ikorodu, Lagos.
She alleged that the defendant with others now at large, jumped into a company called Ovins Company in a bid to steal the items.
She said that the defendant was arrested by the police, while others are still at large.
The offences contravene the provisons of Sections 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
