Matawalle asks security forces to rescue Zamfara female students kidnapped by bandits
Defence minister Bello Matawalle has assured that female students of the Federal University in Gusau kidnapped by bandits will be rescued and returned safely to their respective homes.
This is disclosed in a statement by the defence ministry.
“I share in your pain and strongly condemn this reprehensible act carried out by suspected bandits. I, therefore, call on the nation’s dedicated security forces to intensify efforts and deploy every available resource to secure the safe return of the abducted students,” stated Mr Matawalle.
The defence minister added, “All hands must be on deck in securing the release of the abducted students.”
Mr Matawalle added that as part of President Bola Tinibu’s eight-point agenda of strengthening national security for peace and prosperity, the ministry would secure the release of the abducted students.
The minister revealed that the air and ground components of the military have already been massively deployed within Zamfara as every measure would be taken to protect the lives and property of all Nigerians.
Mr Matawalle further assured Zamfara residents of the federal government’s commitment to secure their lives and properties.
