MC Oluomo introduces barcode for commercial buses in Lagos

“Our goal is to leverage technology to detect some criminal elements using our parks and garages to perpetrate crimes,” said MC Oluomo.

Chairman of Lagos State Parks and Garages, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, has introduced a barcode security system to curb crimes among commercial bus drivers in the state.

According to Mr Akinsanya, the recent move will check kidnapping and other crimes.

“Our goal is to leverage technology to detect some criminal elements using our parks and garages to perpetrate crimes. We want to make our parks and garages as safe as possible. We will make them hell for anyone with criminal intention,” he explained.

The chairman urged park leaders to cooperate with the agency in fishing out criminals in their parks.

Meanwhile, Olayiwola Lemboye, the agency’s secretary, is enlightening commuters on how to use the app.

“Once you scan the barcode on any bus, it will bring out certain information about the park or garage for commuters to determine if the bus is safe for boarding or not,” he explained. “For those who usually forget their ‘loads’ in the bus, the code will help passengers recollect the vehicle’s number plate and trace it to the park or garage such the vehicle operates from.”
