Business activities across the globe have been disrupted due to a major outage in Microsoft’s network.

Microsoft confirmed the issue on its status page, revealing that a glitch in its system has affected operations across various sectors globally.

According to the statement, the company is dealing with a problem impacting Virtual Machines running Windows and the CrowdStrike Falcon agent, which has caused a bug check (BSOD) and left some systems stuck in a restarting loop.

“We’ve been made aware of an issue impacting Virtual Machines running Windows, running the CrowdStrike Falcon agent, which may encounter a bug check (BSOD) and get stuck in a restarting state,” the statement said.

It added, “We’re aware of this issue and are currently investigating potential options Azure customers can take for mitigation.”

The outage has had widespread repercussions, affecting international flights, stock exchanges, and national health services across Europe.

Airports in major European cities, including Amsterdam, Berlin, London, and Paris, reported significant delays as footage of air travellers stranded in airports flooded the internet.
