Minister condoles Abdulsalami Abubakar over sister’s death
Aliyu Abdullahi, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, has condoled with former military head of state Abdulsalami Abubakar on the demise of his younger sister, Salamatu Asabe.
The minister’s condolences were conveyed to Mr Abubakar in a message on Monday.
The minister said he received the news of the passing away of Hajiya Asabe with great shock and sadness but with total submission to the will of Allah.
“It is with shock and immense sadness that I received the news of the passing on of your beloved younger sister, Asabe; may God give her eternal rest.
“I can attest to the fact that all those who had the course of interacting with the deceased in her lifetime had benefitted immensely from her wisdom, wise counselling and her motherly disposition.
“Her passing therefore, was not just a loss for her immediate family, but a loss for those who knew her and admired her humane qualities. In this moment of grief, my family and I offer our heartfelt condolences to your excellency, and other members of the Abubakar family, immediate and extended,” he said.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would comfort him and grant Ms Asabe Aljannah Firdaus.
“May Hajia Salamatu‘s pleasant memories and good deeds be a perpetual source of relief from the painful loss,” he said.
Ms Asabe died recently following a brief illness.
