Singer Temmie Ovwasa, aka YBNL Princess, has made several allegations against rapper Olamide and his wife, stressing that there are certain things she could not say to avoid being assassinated.

Her allegations followed the controversial death of Mohbad.

Ovwasa pointed out that Mohbad’s death had been “triggering” for her, recalling how years of distress had almost driven her to suicide.

“I hope Mohbad rests in peace. You people have unalived him, go and eat his body,” said Ovwasa. “But I honestly will not forget this one, I can’t, he spoke up. We usually do, but we’re all addicts and ungrateful artists, continue.”

The estranged YBNL singer expressed her concerns about her former label boss and his wife in a series of posts she shared on her Instagram on Thursday.

“Don’t get me started on the shady political affiliations that I can only keep quiet about if I don’t want to be unalived,” she stated, emphasising that she refuses to be “Nigeria’s sacrificial lamb, and that story is not mine to tell.”

“I came all the way from Ilorin where I was minding my business just to be reminded that I am broke and ungrateful for not extending myself and screaming ‘baba tuale’ every time uncle and his political friends walked into the room. I was not happy to to be in those space,” the singer explained.

Ovwasa began her revelations by shedding light on the inhumane treatment she claims she endured upon joining her former record label, YBNL. Despite Olamide portraying her as the label’s princess in the public eye, her experiences were different when the cameras were not rolling, she claimed.

Ovwasa went further, accusing Olamide’s wife of publicly humiliating her while constantly reminding her of her modest background.

“I got into the music industry to sing, Olamide and carried me on his head and paraded me as the ‘princess’ but once the cameras were off, I was in a house with his disrespectful a$$ classist wife who made it her mission to remind me that I was a poor girl that they brought from Ilorin to change her life,” stated Ovwasa.

She added about Olamide’s wife, “I’d go out with this woman and she’d humiliate me publicly! When people ask for pictures she made it her mission to remind me that I was broke, it’s not enough to ‘help’ people, don’t add to their problem!!!!”

The singer also accused producer Pheelz of conspiring to withhold 25 songs she had recorded. According to her, the producer claimed he had misplaced the hard drive containing her records.

“I really just wanted to sing! I recorded over 25 songs and Pheelz opened his wide mouth to tell me he misplaced the hard drive, 25 songs!!!” said Ovwasa. “I spent 5 years and released 4 songs! I have recorded and released 3 albums since I left this people.”

In her attempt to speak out against the alleged mistreatment, Ovwasa criticised those attributing her actions to substance abuse and depression.

“I spoke up, and you all said it’s the drugs, it’s depression. Everyone who knows me understands that I have a deep fear of hard drugs because of my history of severe mental health issues,” the singer stated.

While recounting her alleged experiences, Ovwasa criticised Olamide’s managerial style, claiming he has a “track record of abandoning artists” whenever a new one joined the label.

She questioned if her mistreatment was due to her sexual orientation and asked, “What about Lyta and Davolee? Are the other artists gay too?”
