My performance, servant-leadership style will secure my re-election as Osun governor, says Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said his administration’s performance and servant-leadership style will secure his re-election in the August 15 governorship poll in the state.
Mr Adeleke stated this while hosting members of the state chapter of the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria on Wednesday at the Government House in Osogbo.
The governor said that his administration’s performance in the areas of the economy, education, sports, health, agriculture, among others, would guarantee his victory.
He said, “When the opposition asked whether I deserve to be re-elected, I told them yes, based on my performance in this first term in office. As governor, I remain a man of due process.
“I adhere to procurement regulations in project execution; enforce equitable distribution of infrastructure across the state; and stick to the rule of law in addressing governance issues.
“I have also implemented merit-based pre-election teachers’ recruitment despite financial constraints and ensured the judicious management of state finances through verifiable projects and programmes. Am I not deserving to be re-elected?.
The governor also said that he would base his re-election campaign on an upgraded five-point agenda.
He explained that the agenda would focus on integrated youth, women and workers’ welfare and empowerment.
The governor added that infrastructure consolidation for citizens’ social and economic well-being, as well as agro-industrial expansion for human development and collective prosperity, would form part of his campaign priorities.
Mr Adeleke further stated that affordable and quality healthcare, improved access to education, and a better secured business environment for job creation would also receive priority attention.
The governor, however, urged the Islamic society to remember him in their prayers for a free and fair election.
“Today marks the starting point of campaigning for the governorship election. We need your prayers and support for a free and fair election through which the will of the people will prevail,” he said.
Mr Adeleke added that his administration would continue to run an inclusive, forward-looking and world-class system of governance for the people of the state.
“My promise to the people of Osun State is that now and when we are re-elected, we will continue to run inclusive, forward-looking and world-class governance for the good of our people.
“We will expand our consultative networks, sustain growth across multiple sectors and pursue sustainable development across sectors through multi-sectoral development strategies,” he said.
Earlier, the Secretary of the society in the state, Hafiz Akande, commended the governor for what he described as his outstanding performance in governance.
Mr Akande said the governor’s performance was unprecedented in the history of the state.
He, however, appealed to the governor to assist the society in constructing a new mosque affected by a road dualisation project in Iwo town.
