NBA felicitates Muslims, seeks peaceful Nigeria
The Nigerian Bar Association on Wednesday urged Nigerians to contribute their quota to national development by ensuring a peaceful nation as the world celebrates the Eid-ul-fitr.
The NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau (SAN), said this in a statement by the association’s National Publicity Secretary, Habeeb Lawal, in Lagos.
Mr Maikyau urged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for a peaceful country.
The president, who noted that the Eid marked the end of the fasting period for the Muslims, urged the faithful to ensure that the teachings of the period were not forgotten.
The statement noted, “The NBA president and the National Executive Committee of the NBA, felicitates the Muslim Ummah, particularly Muslim lawyers and members of the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria.
“This Eid is an instructive celebration and the Ramadan teachings of perseverance, discipline, generosity, sacrifice, piety and humility should not be lost even after Ramadan.
“May these virtues make us better individuals, conscientious professionals, and more patriotic citizens, as we contribute our quota to making Nigeria a more prosperous and peaceful nation. Eid Mubarak.”
