New Anambra CP assumes office, tasks operatives on investigative skills

The new Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Nnaghe Itam, has urged officers and men of the command to enhance their investigative competency and skills in discharging their duties.

Mr Itam made the call when he addressed police personnel of the Criminal Investigation Department of the state command in Awka on Monday.

The commissioner urged the personnel to be alert and embrace new guides and reviews on criminal investigation and modus operandi.

He said, “When a crime is committed, the formation is tasked to identify the offenders and prosecute the perpetrators professionally.’’

 He urged the operatives to enhance their investigative skills and turn information during the investigation to intelligence.

The CP also said he started the tour of area commands, divisional headquarters, and formation in the command to assess manpower deployment, personnel positioning, and physical structure of the building/offices.

He disclosed that his itinerary commenced with a visit to the area command Aguata headquarters, Aguata Divisional Headquarters.

Also visited were Umunze Divisional Headquarters and the Joint Operation Base headed by the police in Aguata among others

Mr Itam assured Anambra residents of the best policing experience under his watch.
