The provost of the Federal University of Education Kontagora, Niger, Haruna Rashid, said the institution spent about N193 million on constructing a two-storey building for the School of Arts and Social Science, its general education programme.

Mr Rashid said that the complex, with a seating capacity of 200 for students, had since been inaugurated.

He explained that the institution’s authorities embarked on the projects because of the significance of providing a conducive learning atmosphere for its students.

The provost said the projects comprised the offices of the Heads of Departments, conference rooms, offices for supporting staff, and several toilets.

He explained that the complex had also addressed the problem of office accommodation being experienced in the institution.

“We have equally provided motorised boreholes with an overhead tank to boost water supply in the complex.”

Mr Rashid said that the institution had taken concrete measures to continue to provide modern working facilities for its workforce to ensure productivity and academic excellence.

“We will continue to initiate and execute capital projects that will tally with our yearnings and aspirations in providing a conducive atmosphere for learning by our teaming students,” he said.
