The national chairman of South West Agenda for Bola Tinubu (SWAGA), Sen. Adedayo Adeyeye, says Nigeria is on the right track of economic growth and development under President Bola Tinubu.

Mr Adeyeye said this on Wednesday in Oyo, during the symbolic distribution of food items as palliatives to the less privileged across the 33 local government areas (LGAs) in Oyo State.

He pointed out that Mr Tinubu’s administration had in the last three months, introduced some policy decisions that would soon turn the country’s fortunes round for good.

“President Tinubu is a charismatic leader and personality with tremendous leadership traits that will certainly enhance the economic growth of the nation,” Mr Adeyeye said.

The SWAGA chairman implored Nigerians to be patient with the Mr Tinubu-led government, saying the country would soon regain its rightful place in the comity of nations.

He said this would be as a result of genuine and positive steps being taken by the government.

On the essence of the palliatives distributed, Mr Adeyeye said the group feels the pain of the hardship being faced by the masses at this trying period.

”We thereby deem it fit to support the poorest of the poor Nigerians in our own little way.”

He said the gesture was to appreciate Nigerians for their unrelenting support for Mr Tinubu during the elections and to also reassure the masses that he would fulfill all his campaign promises.

Also, the convener of SWAGA, Oyetunde Ojo, said the palliatives’ distribution by SWAGA would cover the South West states, Kwara, Kogi and other north central states.

Mr Ojo recalled that SWAGA was inaugurated in 2020 with the aim of letting Nigerians know that Mr Tinubu was the best candidate that could lead the country to the right track.

“Nigerians accepted him with their votes to become the nation’s President. Now that Tinubu has become the President, we owe it a duty to appreciate the people.

“We will continue to appreciate them and ensure that all our campaign promises are fulfilled.”

Also speaking, the national chairperson, SWAGA palliatives distribution, Ayo Omidiran, said the group has perfected plans to ensure that the target beneficiaries got the food items.

“Our group has representatives across the 33 LGAs of the state who will share the food items to the poorest of the poor in their respective areas in the full view of their leaders.

“We have instructed them that the palliative is not meant for SWAGA members only, but for the less privileged in their respective areas,” she said.

The palliative distribution chairperson, who noted that many Nigerians were going through tough times, called on well-meaning individuals and groups to emulate SWAGA.

”They should reach out to the less privileged in their respective communities,” Mrs Omidiran said.
