The Nigeria National League (NNL) chairman, George Aluo, has called on football stakeholders to support ongoing reforms in the league system to ensure a level playing ground for all teams.

Aluo made the call at the NNL Clubs Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday in Bauchi.

He emphasised the NNL board’s determination to build on the successes of the 2023/2024 league season, seeking partnership and sponsorship from corporate bodies and well-meaning Nigerians.

Aluo called on stakeholders to embrace reforms with an open mind.

He appealed to corporate bodies and individuals to partner with the league to enable it to achieve its goals.

“The meeting is aimed at consolidating on gains, addressing challenges, and outlining strategies for the 2024/2025 league season,” he said.

Aluo commended the NFF president and general secretary for their continuous support and guidance, acknowledging significant improvements in the standard of the league.

In a remark, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi reaffirmed his commitment to sports development.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Auwal Jatau, acknowledged the NNL’s vital role in developing football, nurturing young talents, and promoting grassroots sports.

Mohammed urged the league management to remain steadfast in upholding integrity and sportsmanship, ensuring a level playing field for all participating clubs.
