Nollywood actor Junior Pope is dead
Pope Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope, is dead.
He drowned while crossing the Anam River in Anambra state to shoot a movie scene.
Movie director Sam Olatunji, confirmed this in an Instagram post, saying four actors, including Pope, fell into Anam River on their way to location and their bodies have been recovered.
Prior to the tragedy, Pope took to his Instagram page to share a poignant video, shedding light on the risks and sacrifices that actors often endure in their quest to entertain audiences.
The post was captioned, “See me lamenting……The risk we take to entertain you; crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket……. Na wahoooooo …. Who does that ??”
The 39-year-old actor expressed his fears, revealing his concern for his three children left behind. “I get three children, na only me go raise them,” he said.
Nollywood actor Mike Ezuruonye posted on his Instagram page and wrote, “Life, Nollywood hymn!!!!.”
Actor Bolanle Ninalowo also posted Pope’s picture on his Instagram page and captioned it “God ”
