The governors made this known after a strategic meeting on Tuesday at Government House in Katsina, Katsina State.

He said that was an attempt to create sustainable development and economic prosperity in the North-West.

“The governors agreed to pursue a common agenda to address the devastating security challenge affecting the region in the last few years.

“They also agreed to work together in improving the agricultural sector through a strategic value chain development, access to agric inputs and commodity markets.

“The governors also chart a way for the economic prosperity of the region with a holistic approach to inter-state modalities leveraging on both natural, physical and human resources of the North-Western States,” he said.

Mr Bature quoted Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf as appreciating President Bola Tinubu for his intervention in the hydropower project to North-West states to boost their economy and create additional jobs for the teeming population.

The governors attended the inauguration of 1,466 Katsina State Community Security Watch Corps as part of measures to tackle insecurity in the state.

The inauguration was also graced by former President Muhammadu Buhari, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Ahmed Dangiwa, Emirs of Katsina and Daura, senior security officers and prominent individuals, among other notable stakeholders.
