NUGA 2022: UNILAG melts in final Female Volleyball showdown against UNIJOS
The University of Jos on Friday prevailed against the University of Lagos team at the final showdown of the Female Volleyball match at the 2022 NUGA games.
Team UNIJOS put up a spirited fight and braved all odds to win the high tempo match against the host team.
The UNINOS Female Volleyball team made a scoreboard record after a back-to-back score of 3-0 in their matches in this event.
The team’s resilience paid off as they rallied to defeat UNILAG in three sets.
Playing in front of a boisterous crowd-cheering atmosphere, UNIJOS won the first set by 25-18, while in the second set.
Team UNILAG looked comfortable and as they led at the beginning of the set, but Unijos overtook them and won by 25-20, and also the third set by 25-17 to win the coveted gold medal.
Team UNILAG however, settled for the second place silver medalist of the event.
In the third place match, Federal University Kashere, Gombe, won the bronze medal after a 3-2 defeat against University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
