Ireti Kingibe, Senator-elect for Abuja, says supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, wooed her to be the party’s senatorial candidate because she reflects the ideals of the Obidient movement.

“Abuja was completely Obidient. From the beginning, it was. And I must say that the Obidient movement also came to look for me to be their senatorial candidate. So I must have reflected some of their ideals or they wouldn’t have done so,” Mrs Kingibe said.

The senator-elect, in an interview with Arise TV on Friday, attributed her victory at the poll to the Obidient movement.

“No doubt the Obidient movement helped me to win. All of it helped me to win. That’s why I’m telling you that it is the combination of many factors,” Mrs Kingibe said.

Mrs Kingibe, who had contested twice and failed, unseated Philip Aduda in a hotly contested election, riding on the massive supports Mr Obi enjoyed in Abuja.
