#EndBadGovernance protesters have returned to the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota after rejecting N5,000 offered to many would-be demonstrators not to return to the park on Monday.

With “Sanwo-Olu is a thief” chorus in the background, a protester speaking with a megaphone said in a video posted on X on Monday. “Make price of garri come down. They came to deceive us with N5,000, but we rejected it. We don’t need their money. We will continue to protest. This is our nation.”

Several Lagos residents returned to the streets 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu’s nationwide broadcast calling for the end of the protests.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had warned Lagos residents on Sunday to be wary of divisiveness.

“Now it is fit and proper to, once again, warn our citizens to be very vigilant. Those who seek to divide us are yet to give up,” said Mr Sanwo-Olu.
