The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo has inaugurated reconciliation committees to douse tension recorded during and after its primary elections of May 22 and May 23.

Its Publicity Secretary, Kennedy Peretei, stated in Akure on Friday that the committees were set up to bring stakeholders together in the interest of the party.

He stated that the chairman, Fatai Adams, indicated that the committee members were carefully selected leaders with proven records of dedication and commitment to the party.

The chairman also expressed confidence in the ability of committee members to deliver on their mandates, Mr Peretei stated.

The reconciliation committee for Ondo South senatorial district has Omotayo Dairo as chairman and Sodiq Obanoyen as secretary.

In Ondo Central senatorial district, the chairman is Bakkita Bello, while Amuwa Benson is the secretary.

In Ondo North senatorial district, Eddy Olafeso heads the committee, while Bayo Alarapon will serve as secretary.

Mr Peretei stated also that Mr Adams urged aspirants at the primary elections to take the reconciliation agenda to their co-contestants.

“As a political party, when we have programmes such as congresses and primary elections, we are bound to have some pockets of issues across the 18 local government areas.

“One cannot say everything is good. We are not angels. In order to put our house in order and prepare ourselves for the 2023 general elections as a united family, we have to reconcile ourselves.

“We have different tendencies, ideas, opinions, so, we must bring everybody on board to work together,” Mr Peretei stressed.
