A member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Abiola Awoyeye representing Ife Central on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday trained 250 women in the state in business management.

The three-day business development training for young female entrepreneurs in Ife Central State Constituency was held at Sijuwade Memorial Ife City Hall, Ile-Ife.

Mr Awoyeye, the Chairman House Committee on Youths, Sports and Special Needs, said that the participants were trained in long-term economic growth to enhance their livelihoods.

According to him, the beneficiaries will also enjoy essential trade assets such as loan, grants and continuous mentorship support.

“This multifaceted approach ensures that females are well-equipped to launch and sustain their businesses, driving long-term economic growth for themselves and their communities. This programme encapsulates the spirit of empowerment, providing not just jobs but pathways to independence, confidence and success; for our vision is bold, our ambitions are high and our commitment is unwavering,” he stated.

He urged the participants to embrace the opportunity, stressing that their courage and commitment were inspiring as “leaders, innovators and change makers.”

One of the trainers, Abimbola Faluyi, said that the programme was aimed at transforming the participants to be better personalities and to empower them in their future businesses.

One of the participants, Ijeoma Akabudu, a student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, lauded the organisers for providing a leadership role in women empowerment.

Ms Akabudu, an indigene of Anambra State, said that she learned how to plan her business for a better future and to prevent women liability.

She advised the organisers to continue with the laudable initiative and urged others to provide such an opportunity for women.
