Oyo pays N100 million to second batch of property owners affected by Ibadan Circular Road project

Oyo State Government on Thursday paid N100 million to the second batch of 50 individuals whose property were affected on the first segment of the Ibadan Circular Road project.

The presentation of cheques to the property owners was held at the conference room of the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, state secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

The Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Williams Akin-Funmilayo, while distributing the cheques, said that the payment was in fulfilment of Governor Seyi Makinde’s promise.

Mr Akin-Funmilayo, who said that the sum of N300 million was paid during the first batch of the exercise, assured that those on the third batch would get theirs in the next few weeks.

He commended the beneficiaries for their perseverance and patience, urging them to use the money judiciously.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Jelili Folorunso and Mustura Adigun appreciated the state government for keeping its promise.

The duo said that the money would go a long way in ensuring their resettlement in other places.
