Pakistan’s polls body asked polling officials to share the results of Thursday’s elections in the next 30 minutes or get ready to face the music as allegations of rigging intensify.

“The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued instructions to all the Provincial Election Commissioners and Returning Officers to declare all the results within the next half an hour; otherwise, strict action will be taken against them,” said a statement issued by the ECP.

Polling closed at 5:00 p.m. (1200GMT), and the delay in announcing the results has intensified apprehensions of rigging.

PTI’s spokesperson Raoof Hasan asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to make sure that results are not tampered with, otherwise “we will not accept the results.”
